Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented WordPress Web Developer to join our team in Manila, NCR, Philippines. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply passionate about web development and has a strong command of the WordPress ecosystem. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of WordPress website development—from initial concept and design to development, deployment, and maintenance.
As a key member of our development team, you’ll collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to deliver responsive, high-performing, and visually appealing websites that meet business goals and exceed user expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Development & Maintenance:
Build, maintain, and update WordPress-based websites with a focus on performance, scalability, and user experience. - Custom Theme & Plugin Development:
Design and develop custom themes and plugins tailored to specific client or business needs. Modify existing themes/plugins as required. - Feature Implementation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new website features and functionalities. - Optimization:
Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and overall performance, using best practices in coding and design. - Troubleshooting & Debugging:
Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues or bugs across various browsers and devices. - Security Monitoring:
Monitor websites for security vulnerabilities, apply patches, and follow best practices to ensure robust site security. - Code Management:
Use version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage code changes, collaborate with team members, and maintain code integrity. - User Support & Documentation:
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and clients. Maintain documentation of code and site architecture. - Stay Updated:
Keep abreast of the latest trends, updates, and best practices in WordPress development, as well as broader web development technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience:
Proven work experience as a WordPress Web Developer, preferably in an agency or fast-paced digital environment. - Technical Skills:
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Strong understanding of the WordPress core, theme and plugin architecture.
- Experience with popular WordPress plugins such as Elementor, WooCommerce, ACF, and Yoast SEO.
- Comfortable with MySQL database queries and configurations.
- Development Tools:
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience working with development environments, staging sites, and deployment workflows.
- Design Integration:
Ability to convert Figma/Adobe XD/Sketch designs into fully functional responsive WordPress websites. - Problem-Solving:
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues quickly and efficiently. - Soft Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
