What You’ll Do
As a Full-stack Web Developer, you’ll be a key member of our development team, responsible for the full lifecycle of web platform development — from idea to deployment and beyond. You will design, develop, and maintain the websites, dashboards, and backend services that support our games and partners. This role requires technical skill, creative problem-solving, and strong collaboration with colleagues across disciplines including artists, designers, and game developers.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Technical Design & Planning
Lead the design and architecture of backend platforms and web tools, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability. - Development
Build responsive and robust front-end and back-end systems using Laravel (PHP) and Vue.js, based on UX designs and visual assets provided by our creative team. - API Development
Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs that connect our web platforms with game engines or third-party services. - Maintenance & Optimization
Continuously improve platform performance, code quality, and security while identifying and solving bugs quickly and efficiently. - Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with other developers, artists, designers, and clients to align technical solutions with game mechanics and end-user needs. - Client Communication
Translate business and game-related needs into technical requirements, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on goals and expectations. - Innovation & Vision
Contribute to shaping the long-term technical roadmap of Grendel Games, helping define best practices and exploring emerging technologies that can enhance our projects.
What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for a well-rounded, proactive developer who is as comfortable tackling backend architecture as they are building beautiful front-end experiences. You thrive in a creative, fast-paced environment, enjoy solving real-world problems, and take ownership of your work from start to finish.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in full-stack development, with a strong understanding of both client-side and server-side technologies.
- Solid knowledge of PHP and hands-on experience with the Laravel framework.
- Proficiency in Vue.js, JavaScript, SQL, and modern HTML/CSS practices.
- Familiarity with version control tools (preferably Git), code documentation, and commenting standards.
- Strong debugging skills and a proactive approach to code optimization and performance improvements.
- Excellent communication skills — you’re able to articulate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across disciplines.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of complex tasks.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with C# or Unity, especially in the context of integrating backends with games.
- Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) or deployment pipelines.
- A background or interest in Serious Games, gamification, or socially impactful tech projects.
